How do teachers and students interact with each other?

Teachers and students login for class using Zoom.us, an online video conferencing platform. Teachers can share media using the screen share feature. In between class, teachers and students can communicate in a class chat using the WeChat app.

Is this program a teaching or tutoring opportunity?

At Home Academy's (AHA) online classes have two separate programs, AHA Online and Octoschool. AHA Online is a teaching opportunity. These classes will require lesson planning, homework, assessments, and grade input. Octoschool is a teaching/tutoring opportunity. The courses require some preparation of materials, but there are no graded assessments or submitted lesson plans. Octoschool classes may be one-on-one or a small group of students.

Teachers are paid once a month. On campus teachers will receive direct deposit payments in their Chinese bank account. Online teachers will receive a mailed check. Online teachers must reside in the United States of America.

How do tuition payments work?

Tuition is paid when a student is registered for a course. Payments need to be made in the course registration tab for both tuition and materials.

Registration can be completed under the course registration tab. Please note that registration is not complete until both the registration form is submitted and the tuition is paid in full. Textbooks and materials must be purchased separately.
